- UN Industrial Development Organization turns 50
November 17, 2016 marked the 50th anniversary of the UN General Assembly resolution on the establishment of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
- UN Day celebration
On October 24th 2016 an official reception on the occasion of the United Nations Day was held in the UN House in Moscow. On the same day in 1945 – 71 years ago – the Charter of the United Nations came into force. With the ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the United Nations officially came into being.
- Global Start-Up Business Plan Competition
The Global Start-Up Business Plan Competition (GSBPC) calls on potential and existing entrepreneurs to participate by submitting their innovative entrepreneurial ideas by means of a Business Plan Template, which will be reviewed by a team of experts. The three participants or teams with the best business plans will be invited to attend the prize-winners’ event in Vienna on 21 to 25 November 2016, during the celebration of UNIDO’s 50th Anniversary.
- First International Agro-Industry Investment Forum in Ethiopia
On October 5-7, 2016 the Government of Ethiopia together with the UNIDO are conducting the First International Agro-Industry Investment Forum in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia.
- Meeting on the PCB-containing waste issues in Russia
On the 22nd of June 2016 in the International Centre for Scientific and Technical Information in c. Moscow there was hold the meeting for the discussion of cooperation for the PCB-containing waste issues in the Russian Federation with the participation of the Ministry of Natural Recourses and Ecology of the Russian Federation, “Russian Railways” LLC, The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO), UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation and VTB CJSC.
- Workshop “The present-day role of the intellectual property in the course of business”
17th of June 2016 at the Dubna International University for Nature, Society and Man there was carried out the workshop “The present-day role of the intellectual property in the course of business”. The seminar was organized with the support of non-commercial partnership Dubna, IP boutique “Gorodissky and Partners”, Dubna University and UNIDO Centre of International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation.
- Visit to the “Svyaz engineering KB” plant at SEZ “Dubna”
One of the Centre UNIDO projects to support BRICS is the Project which has been worked out upon the initiative of Brazil “Russian-Brazilian partnership in the field of technologies and innovations for the small and medium-sized enterprises (with the further extension to the other BRICS countries).
- Cluster of nuclear and nanotechnologies in Dubna and the UNIDO Centre signed the Joint Declaration
On the 17th of June 2016 at the International University for Nature, Society and Man in c. Dubna the director of Innovative territorial Cluster of nuclear and nanotechnologies in c. Dubna Ratz A.A. and the director of UNIDO Centre in the Russian Federation Korotkov S.A. solemnly signed the Joint Declaration of mutual cooperation.
- International Moscow ECO Festival “Novaya Era”
On the 25th of March in the Tsytsin Main Moscow Botanical Garden of Academy of Sciences it was hold the International Moscow ECO Festival “Novaya Era” organized with support of UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and Moscow Department of Natural Resources Management and Environmental Protection.
- UNIDO 50th Anniversary!
On 17 November 1966, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) was established as a special organ of the United Nations General Assembly to assist, promote and accelerate the industrialization of developing countries, with a particular emphasis on manufacturing. At UNIDO’s second General Conference, held in 1975 in Lima, Peru, a declaration was adopted in which, for the first time, industrial development objectives were quantified internationally.
