Archive- UNIDO Centre in the Russian Federation supported the delegation from Turkmenistan, which arrived to work within the framework of UNIDO project on the Montreal Protocol
Turkmenistan is actively working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. In 2020, the country acceded to the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. The amendment provides for a phased reduction in the consumption of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) — synthetic greenhouse gases with a very high global warming potential (GWP). HFCs are used in many areas of economic activity, including refrigeration equipment and air conditioning systems.
- UNIDO at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025)
One of the largest and most significant business events in the world, the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025), was held in St. Petersburg from 18 to 21 June 2025. In 2025, the Forum brought together more than 10,000 participants from more than 120 countries, becoming a key international platform for discussing global economic trends, the environmental agenda, and technological solutions of the future.
- UNIDO Centre took part in the XI Nevsky International Ecological Congress
On May 22–23, the XI Nevsky International Ecological Congress was held in St. Petersburg at the Tauride Palace. The Congress brought together representatives of government, science, business and international organizations to discuss current issues of environmental protection and sustainable development. The Congress was organized with the support of the Federation Council, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, and Roscongress, and once again became a key platform for discussing global environmental challenges.
