Mr. Igor Kozhin, Head of UNIDO Centre in Russia

Mr. Igor Kozhin is the Head of the UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation since September 11, 2023.

The Head leads and coordinates the work of the Centre, ensuring interaction with Russian and international partners to implement UNIDO programmes and projects, as well as promoting UNIDO’s role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. He is responsible for cooperation with Federal Ministries and Agencies, as well as interested entities and organizations of the industrial and economic block. The Head manages Centre’s activities on investment and technology promotion within the network of UNIDO ITPOs and coordinates implementation of sustainable industrial development projects in Russia and other countries.

Biography

  • Mr. Igor Kozhin graduated from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in 2007 with a degree on Public Municipal and Corporate Governance. He completed MBA from Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in 2012.
  • Over the course of his professional career, he worked in various positions in leading Russian companies with a focus on business development, investment promotion and implementation of infrastructure projects for major customers in Russia and abroad.
  • From 2007 and until 2011 Mr. Kozhin held the post of Deputy General Director and Chairman of the Board of generation and utility company JSC «ROSKOMMUNENERGO». In this role, he implemented a number of large-scale projects in Russian regions (Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Khakassia) in the field of energy supply and housing and communal services.
  • From 2011 and until 2022 Igor Kozhin was a Deputy General Director of the JSC «GALA-FORM» that provides oil industry support services in Russia. In this role, he was responsible for strategic management of the company and development of business growth and investment strategies, as well as interaction with government bodies and authorities.
  • From June 2022 to March 2023, he worked as an Advisor to the Director of the UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation, providing guidance on expanding UNIDO project activities in Russia and identifying priority areas for the work of the UNIDO Centre.
