- Second GMIS focuses on nature-inspired
In its second edition, the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) – a joint initiative of the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the United Arab Emirates and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) – was inaugurated today by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

On the 9th June 2019 the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit will take place in Ekatirinbug and will last for 3 days. A start-up platform will be exposed for young professionals by the co-chairs of the Summit the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the organisers of the Summit – the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation, the Administration of Sverdlovskaya oblast, the Russian Export Centre and the Fund OTWINTA.
- Results of the environmental programme “Tire-2018” announced
On 13 February 2019, the House of Moscow oblast Government hosted an event dedicated to taking stock of the environmental programme “Tire-2018”, as well as an award ceremony for the most active participants of the programme among municipalities and volunteers. Director of the UNIDO Centre in Russia, Sergey Korotkov, was invited to take part in the event as a guest of honor.

The results of the Russian children’s competition “Our Era of Ecology” were summed up at the meeting of the Moscow City Duma Commission on environmental policy. The organizers and jury of the competition, which included the deputies of the capital’s Parliament, are confident that in the future it will become a prestigious national award.

On October 24-26, 2018, the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference „Technosphere and Environmental Safety in Transport“ (TEBTRANS-2018) was held in the framework of International engineering forum at Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University. The Director of the UNIDO Center for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation Sergey Korotkov participated the Conference.
- Innovative cooperation among BRICS discussed at Skolkovo
On October 17, 2018 a panel discussion on “Modern mechanisms and digital infrastructure of innovative cooperation in BRICS” was held as part of the Open Innovations Forum. The event was jointly organized by the UNIDO Centre in Russia and Skolkovo.
- UNIDO Centre and Bashkortostan strenghten cooperation
On October 18, the Director of the UNIDO Centre in Russia, Sergey Korotkov, met with the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Rustem Mardanov on the sidelines of the Fourth Forum on Small Business of the SCO and BRICS Regions in Ufa. The meeting was devoted to discussions of possible areas of cooperation in the context of industrial potential development of Bashkortostan, mainly through improvement of competitiveness of local enterprises on external markets.
