The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Fund OTWINTA will present the start-up platform at the GMIS-2019

On the 9th June 2019 the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit will take place in Ekatirinbug and will last for 3 days. A start-up platform will be exposed for young professionals by the co-chairs of the Summit the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the organisers of the Summit – the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation, the Administration of Sverdlovskaya oblast, the Russian Export Centre and the Fund OTWINTA. 50 Russian and 50 international projects will be represented. A debating session of the GMIS global youth platform will be acting within the framework of the Summit.

The Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit 2019 was created in 2015 as an industry-based platform aimed to develop the dialogue between the entrepreneurs, investors, governmental representatives and non-commercial organisations in the matter of use of responsibilities emerging during the Industry 4.0 to straighten the world economy. The summit affiliates influential guests, including global leaders, CEOs of the largest international companies, experts, research workers and scientists and aims to put the production issue in the heart of the economic renewal and use it as a successful tool of global cooperation and partnership.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation and the Fund OTWINTA, organiser of the International festival of youth scientific and technical creations OTWINTA, have put forward the cooperative initiative to support the start-up platform activity — Innovation Theatre GMIS-2019 and to lead a preliminary selection of Russian projects together with experts. The initiative was supported by the Programme committee of the Summit. Corresponding arrangements were assigned between the representatives of GMIS, ITPO UNIDO and the Fund OTWINTA during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum which was held in early June.

Exhibition of 100 start-ups will cover the most promising sectors that are drivers of the growth of the world economy and industrial revolution Industry 4.0. The main sectors are digital production, engineering, satellite logistics, innovation in aerospace, aviation, automotive industry, new operating and cloud system, big data and information security. Among other promising sectors are virtual and augmented reality, internet of things, robotics, education and social entrepreneurship, projects aimed to develop responsible business and transparency of supply chains.

Since the nature-like technologies will be the key topic of the Summit, the startup site will present projects that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and circular economy. «Green» energy and recycling projects will be presented together with hi-tech start-ups related to “life sciences” (genetics, neuroethologies, digital agriculture, medicine) and “smart city” technologies (unmanned vehicles) new materials etc.

A youth debating block, which can become a platform for further meetings, will be available for the first time within the framework of the Summit.

Young professionals will come up with short pitch-presentations of their projects for the world-renowned experts, directors of R&D parks of industrial enterprises, venture and industry investors. They will also have the opportunity to take part in the main programme of the Summit, visit INNIPROM-2019 exhibition and get the main prize of the Summit: participate in the third Summit with the Russian delegation of entrepreneurs.

Start-ups with a high degree of elaboration, formed by an innovative product with prospects for promotion in international markets are invited to participate. The intermediate results will be announced on the 27th June and the 3d of July 2019.
