- International Theoretical and Practical Conference «Contemporary Approaches to Rubber goods and Tires Recycling and Disposal»
On the 1-2nd of June in Moscow (Russia) the International Theoretical and Practical Conference “Contemporary Approaches to Rubber goods and Tires Recycling and Disposal” was held in Russian Gubkin State University of Oil and Gas. Conference was held in the framework of the UNIDO/Russia project “BAT/BEP Centre for environmentally safe disposal of potentially hazardous consumer products and industrial wastes”. The event was organized by the UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Co-operation in the Russian Federation, the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation.
- UNIDO delegation visit to VALORPNEU
On the 04-08 th of May 2011 UNIDO delegation headed by the Director of the UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Co-operation in the Russian Federation Sergey Korotkov visited VALORPNEU in Lisbon (Portugal) with a working visit.
VALORPNEU is a non-profit private limited company, created on February the 27 th, 2002, with the objective to organize and manage the system for collection, recovery and ultimate disposal of used tyres. VALORPNEU is one of the first European companies of its kind created to handle used tyres.
- First Russian-Armenian Regional Business Forum
18-19 April 2011, Yerevan – under auspices of the Russian and Armenian Presidential Executive Offices the first Russian-Armenian Regional Business Forum was held in Armenia.
The Forum was organized by the Russian Federation, presented by the Development Fund “Institute Of Eurasian Studies” and Rossotrudnichestvo, and the Republic of Armenia, presented by the Government of Armenia and the Armenian Development Agency.

In the framework of the UNIDO/Russia project “BAT/BEP Centre for environmentally safe disposal of potentially hazardous consumer products and industrial wastes” on March 22, 2011 in the Analytical Centre under the Government of the Russian Federation was held the workshop-meeting with the heads of the permanent missions of the subjects of the Russian Federation under the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Russian Federation on the subject: „Waste recycling: state of the industry, international experience and attractive projects and advanced technologies“.
- UNIDO mission to the Republic of Kazakhstan
On the 9-11 th of March 2011 the UNIDO delegation, consisted of F.Condorelli (UNIDO, Vienne), S.E.Pokrovskiy (UNIDO CIIC, Russian Federation) and Director General of the Inter-regional centre of industrial subcontracting and partnership A.N.Kiselev, participated in the conference “Industry modernization in the Republic of Kazakhstan” in Astana.During the conference the UNIDO representatives presented the UNIDO Project to enhance the industrial integration of EurAsEC countries, A.N.Kiselev focused on industrial cooperation experience in Russia.

On the 2d of March 2011 the conference „Modern standards of quality and food safety. The International System of Quality Assurance METRO GROUP” was held in Moscow. The conference was devoted to the introduction of modern international standards of quality and food safety for Russian suppliers that produce goods under the brands of METRO Cash & Carry and Real Hypermarket in Russia.
- UNIDO delegation visit to SIMS Recycling Solutions
On the 07-09 th of February 2011 UNIDO delegation visited SIMS Recycling Solutions plant in Eindhoven (the Netherlands) with a working visit.
Sims Recycling Solutions is the electronics recycling division of the world’s largest metals recycling company, Sims Metal Management Limited. The business was established in 1917 by Albert Sims, an Australian-based recycled metals dealer and has grown to over 230 operations in five continents employing over 5,600 people. In fiscal year 2010, global turnover exceeded €5bn.
