UNIDO Centre in the Russian Federation took part in the Meeting of the Subcommittee on Digital Economy and Innovation of the RSPP Committee on International Cooperation

On October 24, 2024, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) hosted a Meeting on the topic „National Project „Data Economy“: Improving Legal Regulation in the Sphere of Industrial Data Circulation within the EAEU and BRICS“.
Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Eurasian Economic Commission, industry organizations and expert communities were invited to participate in the meeting.
The Chairman of the Subcommittee on Digital Economy and Innovation of the RSPP Committee on International Cooperation Vitaly Anikin addressed the participants of the Meeting with a welcoming speech. He thanked all those present for their interest in this topic and expressed hope for fruitful and effective cooperation.
During the meeting, issues of standardization in the field of digital industry and industrial data in the context of developing international cooperation, mechanisms of industrial cooperation within the EAEU, as well as the possibilities and prospects for using artificial intelligence in industrial data were discussed.
Head of the UNIDO Center in the Russian Federation Igor Kozhin in his speech spoke about UNIDO’s activities in the field of data regulation, namely about the UN initiatives aimed at creating a unified approach to data regulation. He described in detail the support measures and tools that UNIDO has in solving problems of national law related to inconsistency of standards and different approaches to data protection.
At the end of the Meeting, a discussion took place, during which the participants emphasized the importance of successful regulation of industrial data circulation within the EAEU and BRICS, as well as the need to create conditions for the formation of the necessary practices for industrial data circulation, taking into account the requirements of national legislation.
