UNIDO Centre in the Russian Federation took part in the VII Global Conference on Near Space Industrialization

On September 13-14, the VII Global Conference on Near Space Industrialization, a large-scale event on industrial development of space, was held in Maryina Gorka, Republic of Belarus.

The Head of the UNIDO Centre in the Russian Federation, Igor Kozhin, delivered a welcoming speech to the conference participants. In his speech, he noted that UNIDO’s mandate coincides with the topics of the annual Conference on many issues and that the UNIDO Centre is actively exploring the possibility of launching joint projects, including on combating desertification and overcoming the problems of world hunger. He also expressed confidence that this conference is an important point in the issue of strengthening global cooperation for the benefit of universal and sustainable industrial development.

The main goal of the 2024 Conference is to solve global environmental problems of near-Earth space industrialization, to dispose of space industry waste, to create environmentally friendly equipment in space exploration, and to promote the idea of preserving wildlife and rational use of natural resources as a guarantor of environmental stability on Earth.

The first day of the conference was devoted to scientific and technical sections, where reports were presented and discussions were held on the prospects for using electric discharge technologies in creating closed ecosystems, protecting microelectronics from the effects of space factors, and the prospects for using an additional oxygen source in an internal combustion engine.

On the second day of the Conference, discussions were held within the framework of environmental sections on the biological aspects of closed biosphere-type ecosystems on Earth and in space. Also, during the second day of the conference, equally important issues related to the social, legal, political and financial aspects of the development of human civilization on Earth and in space were touched upon.

The Global Conference on Near Space Industrialization has once again become an effective platform for exchanging experience and scientific and practical knowledge, summarizing the results of scientific, research and practical work necessary for the effective implementation of the space vector of Humanity’s development through non-rocket industrialization of near space.
