St. Petersburg Initiative plenary session held at the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia

The regular plenary session of the St. Petersburg Initiative was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation on 6 April 2018, and was dedicated to the theme of green financing, its development and implementation experience conducive to clean and safe environment.

The St. Petersburg Initiative is a public-private partnership mechanism, that was created in 2013 with the aim of improving the environment in the Baltic region.

Representatives of Russian and foreign banking institutions, relevant ministries and international organizations took part in the session chaired by Nuritdin Inamov, Director of Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

In his presentation on the assistance provided by the UNIDO Centre to develop a green industry in Russia, the Director of the UNIDO Centre Sergey Korotkov spoke about sources of funding for projects implemented by UNIDO in Russia and aimed at achieving inclusive sustainable industrial development. He also presented funding opportunities for environmental projects with Russian and foreign financial instruments.
